Take a Book Walk

A fun and interactive way to introduce children to new books is by taking a “book walk.” Meaning, educators “walk” them through the book by turning the pages and prompting children to make comments about what they see; this is a great time to use those basic competence questions we discussed in CAR, making room to ask higher-level prompts during later readings.
