Learning within your setting is the foundation for children’s growth and development. This learning environment comprises the setting itself (indoors, outdoors, and all materials and equipment); the people within the setting (early childhood educators, children, parents, volunteers, administrators, and visitors); and any learning experiences, routines, and schedules you establish within the setting. How this environment is configured directly impacts children’s progress in building social, emotional, cognitive, language and literacy, and physical skills.
