What is Interactive Reading?

This is a specific type of shared book reading in which adults/educators use techniques intended to engage a young child, or children, in the reading material. Such can include pointing to pictures, asking questions, using different voices for each character, making associated sounds (e.g., animal noises, onomatopoeias, etc.), or making comments about the text/subject.
